Sponsor a Student Walker
Throughout the fall, A-SPAN staff visits schools in Arlington and DC, giving presentations on homelessness to students and engaging them in lessons about what we all can do to help. And then – we walk! The mini-walks we host at schools help raise money for our programs. Each student pays a registration fee in order to be counted in our walker total and to receive the walkathon T-shirt. However, many children do not have the resources to pay their fee. A-SPAN funds those students’ fees so that they can participate, but to do that We Need Your Help!
To give every student the opportunity to participate, we need to raise $15,000. The fee per student is $20. That can be enough to keep kids from fully participating. We plan to engage every student at every school and guarantee them a t-shirt & certificate.
Please consider sponsoring student walkers in this year’s mini-walk program. Your donation will not only help each of these children fully participate, but will also help us reach our total walker goal. If we recruit 3,000 walkers, Fannie Mae grants A-SPAN a bonus $50,000!
